a home burial

Molly always said she wanted to be planted in her garden. This is possible and as she owned an acre, a small part was annexed off and that's where the family buried her. A vigil was kept for her at home for a few days before her body went off to the local funeral director, and family and friends went to collect her on the Sunday, carrying her in a wicker coffin all the way home again.

Her son made a marvellous bamboo stretcher for the coffin, making carrying very easy. Her ceremony included string quartets as she played throughout her life. Her grandchildren wrote little poems and her family and friends spent nearly an hour just telling stories about her, laughing and crying, feeling the love and gratitude everyone held for her.

She was then 'planted', since which time the family have been able to spend time planting a special garden of her favourite things around her grave.
